Australian Native Garden
Parkville, VIC
The Australian Native Garden is located in the south-east corner of Royal Park and features distinctive plants native to different regions of Australia. It is wide and open to mimic the routinely burnt and managed landscape present in Melbourne before colonisation and has walkways, benches and facilities.
The Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary is a 30 hectare “living laboratory” that fosters restoration of native flora and fauna. This is supplemented by a native plant nursery, which sells to the public both wholesale and individually.
CERES is a not-for-profit community farm, education hub, and meeting ground. The organisation's aim is to “make people fall in love with the Earth again” through environmental and sustainable methods, with a focus on implementing and maintaining Indigenous practices.
The Wurundjeri Garden are a small garden located in Hawthorn along the bank of the Yarra River. They displays a multitude of locally native plants which were traditionally used by the Wurundjeri-woiwurrung.
Located between Abbotsford, Kew and Abbotsford along the Yarra River and Merri Creek, Yarra Bend Park is the largest area of bushland in inner Melbourne, harbouring hiking trails, picnic grounds, sporting facilities and natural bushland.
