Golden Wattle

Wurundjeri name unknown

Acacia pycnantha

Golden wattle is a small wattle tree with slightly curved, bright green leaves and golden clusters of flowers from July to October. Its flowers are also the national floral emblem of Australia.

The Wurundjeri-woiwurrung would eat the bark of the plant to aid indigestion.

It grows best in well drained, loamy soil from full sun to semi shade.
