Daberrap is a semi-aquatic plant which grows from 0.4 to 1.3 metres tall with round, green leaves and yellow flowers with five petals from October to March.

It grows best in shallow water up to 60 centimetres deep, or seasonally wet or flooded soil near freshwater. It grows in full sun to semi shade.
